A longtime dream was fulfilled Wednesday when Mary went on The Today Show to talk about her new Syfy reality show, “Mary Knows Best.” The next episode is Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern. Thanks to Sirius/XM for its support.

For eight years, MaryRose Occhino remained trapped in her home and her body. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 40, the Mastic mother of three found herself bedridden by her debilitating disease, which made it nearly impossible to stand, walk or even eat.

While confined mostly to her bedroom, Ms. Occhino, who considers herself a psychic, said she spent much of her time writing and exploring an intuitiveness that she believes she was born with and inherited from her mother, Anna, and grandmother, Rosie.

Thought we’d share a little item that ran in Newsday today about the opening of Mary’s new store, Mary O’s Celestial Whispers, in Center Moriches, NY, this Saturday, Dec. 19.

In addition to the store’s opening, Mary will be hosting a salon from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. for a small group.

There are still a few seats available.

The Southampton Press, one of the biggest papers on the East End of Long Island, ran this little item on Dec. 15. It’s in Dawn Watson’s Moriches Bay column.

MaryRose Occhino, who some of you might know as the psychic-intuitive host of “Angels on Call” on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, has a new spiritual gift shop, called Celestial Whispers, on Main Street in Center Moriches. Ms. Occhino will conduct psychic seminars at the store every other Saturday beginning on December 19, from 7 to 9 p.m.

This June 6, 2006 Newsday story, “Mediums are getting the message,” mentioned Mary as a “rising star.”

More celebrity psychics-mediums are on the way. Mary Rose Occhino, a rising star from Long Island, has already written two books: “Beyond These Four Walls” (Berkley Books, 2004) and “Signs of the Dove” (Berkley Books, January), which chronicle her life as a psychic-medium and her battle with multiple sclerosis.

Despite her disability, Occhino, 53, of Mastic, works long days, which include doing quick readings on her two-hour Sirius satellite radio show called ”Intuitive Intervention” and overseeing her Web site, celestialwhispers.com.

“Psychics-mediums help people connect with their loved ones,” Occhino said. ”They are grief counselors and help people reach some kind of closure where there previously was none.”
